The hinterland of Romagna hides many wonders to be discovered. Starting from the fantastic nature parks immersed in the green of our hills to the medieval villages that will transport you back in time.
The San Bartolo park!
The natural park of San Bartolo is situated on the promontory of Gabicce and gathers four footpaths which give tourists the possibility to admire outstanding views.
In the park there are many species of animals among which mammals, amphibians e reptiles.
In addition, with the Bird Watching you can admire some birds such as the peregrine falcon, the honey buzzard and the rare pale harrier.
The Onferno Caves!
The Conca Valley is another marvellous green area in which you can go and discover the Caves of Onfernonatural architecture of stalactites and stalagmites built over millions of years by the patient hands of nature.
Inside there are rooms of different sizes; the most famous is the Quirina Hallalso known as Mammelloni Hall for the large conical plaster protuberances protruding from the ceiling.
For the more courageous, at night in these caves it is also possible to have some close encounters with the many bats living on the inside.
The medieval villages!
Among the most evocative medieval villages we mention that of Gradara with its castle with double walls overlooking the houses in the center and houses the fantastic love story of Paolo and Francesca.
A few kilometres away from Cattolica is one of the most important most loved villages by tourists: San Marino.
The oldest republic in the world with a breathtaking view and monuments to visit!
